CONCORD, NH – The League of NH Craftsmen’s Gallery 205 is hosting an exhibition that showcases the beauty, function, and magic of glass. The fine glass pieces in this exhibition were all handcrafted by juried members of the League (scroll down for a list of participants.), and include distinctive vessels, sculptural items, panels, and jewelry. Each piece reflects the artistry and unique vision of the craftsperson.
The exhibition will be in the League’s Gallery 205 in Concord from September 12 through December 12, 2008. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, September 12 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Gallery 205 is located in the League of NH Craftsmen’s headquarters at 205 North Main Street in Concord, NH and is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Saturdays, during the exhibition, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
“People are fascinated by glass objects and by how glass is made. We’ve seen this at our Annual Craftsmen’s Fair, as the glassmaking demonstrations always draw large crowds,” said League Executive Director Susie Lowe-Stockwell. “This is an appealing exhibition that showcases the various shapes, forms, colors, and function of glass.”
The League of NH Craftsmen is a non-profit, craft education organization. Its mission is to encourage, nurture, and promote the creation, use, and preservation of fine contemporary and traditional craft through the inspiration and education of artists and the broader community. The League of NH Craftsmen is supported in part by a grant from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
